The Lindenhurst Gazette is the Only Community Newspaper for over 27000 residents in Lindenhurst NY.
What inspired you to get into the business you are in today?
Recent Super Storm Sandy destruction in our community left a void of community communication. Our Goal is to assist rebuilding our community by promoting local businesses, organizations and our outstanding citizens and promote our community in a positive and uplifting way through our printed newspaper and online edition.
How do you define success for yourself and for your business?
Understanding the needs of others in your community and being able to act on those needs either directly or indirectly in a way which produces an overall improvement to our community, our schools, our businesses and our local government. Remembering that success is not only defined by outward signs but also by your ability to sleep well at night knowing that you have been honest with all those with whom you deal with.
How would you use the FedEx SMB Grant money to make a significant impact on your business and/or on others?
With the recent devastation of Storm Sandy, many in our community are still suffering from the effects of that storm. Areas, South of Montauk Highway are still in the "Rebuilding" mode and with such, community areas such as Shore Road Park are somewhat neglected. This Park was a Major Hub for services by multiple organizations in the aftermath of Sandy. Our plan for the Grant would be to rebuild the Playground and surrounding area with a special emphasis on community pride and rescue efforts.
