Tell us about your business, what inspired you to get into it, what you sell/service you offer, what makes your business stand out and how it impacts you, your community or the environment.

The Nutmeg Collective came from one simple idea: there were people in the state that had information on craft shows and maker events and they needed to be found. What evolved from that turned into so much more. The Collective has developed into a network of makers, artists, curators, and creative minds. We support the needs of the makers, through our extensive network of businesses owners. We operate as a collaborative family unit, giving makers a place to interact with people like themselves.

How would you use the FedEx Small Business Grant money to make a significant impact on your business?

The Collective is currently 100% funded by the membership. If we were to win this, the prizes would go toward workshops and retreats designed for helping small business owners and strengthening local small business. We have a marketplace of items that we purchase from our members to sell and this would allow us to grow the marketplace, which in turn helps fund our small businesses. If we were to win the grand prize, we would be able to look into renting space to use as a central hub.
