I set up inside local department stores as an independent contractor on the week ends and give out free samples to customers inside stores.
What inspired you to get into the business you are in today?
I started doing this type of work in 2005, and fell in love with it. I knew from then that I would love the opportunity to start my own business. I love working with the public and meeting new people. I think that this would be a great asset to our community to help it go forward and grow. I hope that I am chosen to be one of the candidates for the grant. I would like to be able to help others start their business in the future. As well as bring job opportunities to the community. Thank You.
How do you define success for yourself and for your business?
Being able to get a business up and going from the ground, as well as see it grow. Helping the next generation to start their career in business, helping to train and teach them the business and be able to pass it on. To help others to start their dream business. Hiring employees that you can count on. Be able to give back to the community. Possibly start a fund for a cause as helping a person to fund and grow their business down the road. Knowing how hard it is to start a business myself.
How would you use the FedEx SMB Grant money to make a significant impact on your business and/or on others?
I would use it to rent the location, pay utilities, buy advertising and hire staff as well as pay them. I would update my equipment and purchase the needed supplies to make the business run properly and efficiently. I would hope that I would have some left over to operate the business off of, or have put back in case an unexpected expense should arise. Setting aside a fraction as well to give back to a charity to help the community and others in it as well. I thank You for this opportunity.
